Proof load shall not exceed the lesser of 67% of the controlling nominal strength or 80% of calculated steel yield strength per ICC-ES AC308 and Hilti technical guidance.
Concrete breakout strength (Nb) calculated per ACI 318 Chapter 17, Eq. 17.6.2.2.1 for a single anchor in uncracked concrete with no edge or spacing reductions.
Steel tensile stress areas (Ase) per ASME B1.1 for UNC threads.
This calculator provides a simplified single-anchor estimate. Actual proof loads must account for edge distances, anchor spacing, eccentricity, and cracking conditions per the project-specific engineering analysis.
